Location and repetition
In Model 3 2017–2023 and 2024+, open Controls → Schedule and select a saved home, job, or current location. For the latter, the car must stand. Schedule is location-based: Home settings do not replace schedules at another station. Without a weekly repetition, it will run once and shut down.
Charging time
In the Charge section, set the beginning, end, or both times. Only Start at starts charging at a specified time until the limit is reached. Only End by allows the car to calculate the beginning itself. Short power consumption immediately after connection in this mode is necessary for calculation and in itself is normal.
Preparing for departure
In Precondition, specify the time of readiness: the car will determine when to start preparing the cabin and battery. Finishing the charge closer to the exit helps to avoid unnecessary reheating of the battery. Check the settings and connect the car.
Practical example
Charging the house for the morning departure
When the car spends the night at home, it is convenient to set the time of the end of charging and preparation for the trip for this place.
- Check that the schedule is tied to your home location and the days of the week are selected.
- Specify the time of completion of charging for departure, then separately set the time of preparation of the cabin in Precondition.
- After connecting, look on the car screen that the schedule is active and set the desired charge limit.
Keep in mind: Fast stations ignore the schedule; in some cases, charging starts immediately.
