Practical guide
Understanding your driving range
Compare displayed range with actual energy use and driving conditions.
Guide updated 2 Oct 2026 · revision 1
Separate two range figures
Kilometers next to the battery are calculated according to the standard consumption and do not reflect all the features of the current trip. Therefore, the figure can decrease faster than the distance traveled. For an estimate of recent consumption, open Energy and compare the forecast with actual data.
What affects energy use
The Drive tab shows consumption in motion, and Park helps to understand parking losses. The result is influenced by speed, wind, temperature, lifts, climate system and cargo. Short trips can also be expensive: the cabin and battery each time require bringing to the desired temperature.
Start with simple checks
Drive smoother, avoid sharp accelerations, remove unnecessary loads and check tire pressure on the recommendation of the car. Prepare the cabin in advance with the connected cable. At the parking lot, consider the consumption of Sentry Mode and application requests; disable unnecessary functions, understanding what features are lost.
Practical example
Kilometers on the screen decrease faster than the road
This is a reason to compare the regulatory assessment with the actual consumption, rather than to draw a conclusion about the state of the battery by one number.
- Open Energy → Drive and compare your actual consumption with your current travel forecast.
- Check Energy → Park if a noticeable part of the energy goes away during parking.
- Consider the temperature, speed, relief and pressure in the tires. If the vehicle shows a warning, write down the exact text.
Keep in mind: Kilometers on the screen - estimate; save energy and consider charging warnings.
