Prepare before driving

Connect the prepared USB drive to the data connector and turn on Dashcam. Evaluate the status icon: the availability of the function does not mean that the record is going. It is convenient to place the application icon in the bottom panel in advance, so that after the event you do not search for it among other applications.

Do not rely only on automatic saving

Automatic saving depends on whether the vehicle has recognized a significant event. In manual mode, the last ten minutes are saved. If the episode is important, save it when it is safe and check the result after stopping. Unsaved material is gradually overwritten, so a long wait can deprive the desired fragment.

Export and check the clip

Before removing the drive, suspend Dashcam. View on the car screen in Park. If encryption is enabled, the computer's regular video player won't open files: you'll need a car or a Tesla account associated with it while recording. After saving, make a separate copy of the really important episodes.

Keep in mind: Do not be distracted by saving or watching while driving; automatic recording does not guarantee the fixation of every incident.

For your vehicle and software, the in-car manual and release notes are the most precise references.
