Tyre pressure: where to find the correct value
Use the pressure label on your car and measure when the tyres are cold.
Guide updated 2 Oct 2026 · revision 1
Find the correct value
The pressure is indicated on the sign in the opening of the driver's door. The number on the sidewall of the tire does not replace this norm. If you are traveling with a trailer, check the individual requirements of the section on towing. Do not transfer the value from another Tesla: the size of the wheels and the conditions of use may vary.
Measure correctly
Use a serviceable pressure gauge on cold tires; the verified manual suggests checking after parking for more than three hours. After the trip, the pressure increases due to heat. Do not blow air from a hot tire to coincide with the cold norm. After adjustment, measure again and return the valve cap.
Investigate a warning
Screen readings can only be updated after movement, and the indicator will not necessarily go out immediately after swap. Inspect the tread and sidewalls regardless of TPMS. Repeated pressure drops require a tire check; cuts, bloating, and heavy wear cannot be explained by cooling or sensor features alone.
Keep in mind: If a tire is damaged or abruptly vibrating, stop safely and arrange for help; do not continue your normal trip.
