The electric car also needs maintenance of tires, brakes, filters and wipers. For the tested Model Y 2020-2024, it is specified, for example, to replace the cabin filter every two years and check the condition of the brake fluid every four years. The equipment and operating conditions may require a different set of works or more frequent inspection.
Consider driving conditions
Winter salt, frequent mountain descents and towing affect brake maintenance. Don’t just wait for a calendar date if your car’s behavior changes. Regularly inspect tires, check lights, glass cleaners and on-screen warnings. When contacting the service, attach a description of the symptom, time of occurrence and travel conditions.
Keep records
After maintenance, write down the date, mileage and work performed; if you have the appropriate function, update the record in the car. The work of an independent service should also make history. The next owner and master will be able to distinguish the already executed replacement from the missed one, and you will be able to check the validity of the next recommendation.

How to prepare for recording in the workshop
For the Model Y 2020-2024, it is better to make a list of works according to the actual condition of the car and the head of the manual for its configuration.
- Write down the mileage, the date of last service, and the warnings or symptoms seen.
- Ask the service to share the mandatory inspection, proposed work, parts and cost in the estimate.
- After the visit, keep a list of the work performed and the date so that the next inspection does not begin with guesses.
