Check Wi-Fi where you park

On Model 3 2017–2023 and 2024+, start with Controls → Wi-Fi and connect to your network. The signal is important where the car is, not near the home router. The hotel network with a separate entrance page may not be suitable: the management excludes such connections.

Download and installation are separate steps

The download receives files, the installation changes the car's software. During boot time, loss of Wi-Fi can interrupt transmission. When installed, movement is not available, and current charging temporarily stops. Therefore, leave enough time until the next exit and do not expect to complete the charging at the same time.

Check the result

See the status in the Software section; after completion, read the notes to the installed version. They explain the changes in the received release. If your home connection is unstable, check your Wi-Fi diagnostics and try a different network. Names and availability of additional switches check with the interface of your car.

Keep in mind: Do not use the car during installation: some of the functions and security systems may be temporarily unavailable.

This concise guide was prepared by Volt. A manual version does not mean that software is installed on your car.

For your vehicle and software, the in-car manual and release notes are the most precise references.
