Set up a separate audio connection

In the Model 3 of both generations, a working phone key does not mean that calls and music are ready. In the parking lot, unlock the phone, turn on Bluetooth and find it through Controls → Bluetooth. Before confirming, compare the code on both screens: they should show the same value.

Review permissions

Access to contacts and messages is set up separately; the phone may request additional sync confirmation. If the music is playing and the phone book is empty, start with permissions rather than removing all connections. Check that the car is selected on the phone as a sound output device.

Choose the right phone

With several devices, set a priority or connect the desired from the list. Otherwise, the car can select the last used phone nearby. The Disconnect team temporarily breaks the connection, and Forget Device removes the pairing. Removing the audio connection does not in itself revoke the phone’s access as a key.

Keep in mind: Do not remove the phone key or re-tether it without a working spare card nearby.
