The selection includes three versions: the early European Model 3, the 2021 update and the Highland. At the boundaries of periods, first recognize the body and interior, then check the equipment.
Two steering levers and a horizontal screen; there is no separate dashboard and a standard rear screen. Early interior and exterior decoration can be considered in the card 2019-2020. Check the presence of a heat pump for additional information about the car.
A dated snapshot of the 2021 update shows a matte center console. Two steering levers retained. Different batteries and equipment can be hidden behind externally similar cars: the year of registration does not replace the check of equipment.
Tesla puts the transition of Model 3 and Model Y, built for Europe, to a system without radar by April 2022. This refers to production for the market, not to first registration. Check the presence of ultrasonic parking sensors separately.
The manual family is called 2024+, although the updated Model 3 appeared in Europe in 2023. The direction of movement is selected on the screen; the rear screen depends on the execution. The current manual describes both the turnkey buttons and the option with a lever.
Open “Management → Software → Additional Vehicle Information” to check the heat pump. Separately turn on the heating and check the equipment of the cabin.
Before the trip, deal with the turn signals and the choice of transmission on your version. Compare noise and suspension on the same route; adaptive shock absorbers refer to the new Performance.
Changes and equipment checks
The original European Model Y and Juniper differ markedly in cabin and chassis. Battery, number of seats and options are specified separately from the name of the generation.
Two steering levers, a large trunk opening and a heat pump. The previous-generation manual is called “2020-2024”: the range of the document is not equal to the dates of European sales. For five- and seven-seater versions, separate dimensions of the cabin and trunk are given.
For the Model Y built for Europe, Tesla points to a shift to cameras instead of radar from April 2022. The date of first registration and the presence of separate parking sensors require verification.
Tesla introduced suspension and noise insulation changes, front seat ventilation and an 8-inch rear screen. Equipment of the description of the launch can not be transferred to all later basic versions: in the current manual, the screen is indicated “if available”.
Verify documents, the presence of a third row and the work of folding seats. Try on your luggage: volume after second row and volume after third - different indicators.
If ventilation and the rear screen are important, check their availability and operation. See how the direction of travel is chosen, and familiarize yourself with the backup selector before the trip.
Keep the exact variant, desired equipment and questions for the seller. Compare them with documents and a diagnostic result before buying.
