What to check when buying

  • Check the opening and closing of both doors, warnings and calibration; then evaluate the space in your garage. Tesla describes obstacle sensors and individual calibration, and film and door stickers can influence obstacle detection.
  • Check real 5, 6 or 7 seats, third row access and seat movement. In the new X, the manual separately describes folding seats and Monopost seats; the same name Model X does not guarantee the same load scenario.
  • Check if the CCS Combo 2 is equipped and if there is an adapter. For cars until May 2019, Tesla specifies a separate CCS Upgrade for access to the European V3 Supercharger. Having an older Type 2 connector alone does not confirm CCS.
  • Check the VIN in Tesla Recall Search and confirm your work. The campaign refers to cars with 8GB of eMMC in a multimedia unit; the year of release alone does not confirm that a particular car still needs repair.
  • Ask for Additional Vehicle Information and Infotainment Upgrade documents. Tesla is offering an update for some of the early-release cars; the appearance of the vertical screen does not allow you to determine all the equipment installed.
