Powerwall and Wall Connector smart charging: what Tesla has confirmed

On October 11, the profile publication reported on the Smart Charging feature for the Powerwall and Wall Connector bundle. The Tesla Support page for Portugal confirms the two modes and specifications, but does not provide a start date or a list of countries where the feature is already available.

Low-Cost Charging plans charging taking into account the tariff and the forecast of solar production. To do this, Powerwall must work in Savings mode. Charge on Solar uses excess solar energy after reaching a set minimum; this requires a Self-Powered mode. If solar power is not enough to reach a minimum by the time of departure, the system may use other sources.

Tesla specifies a Powerwall 2, 3 or 3P and a Wall Connector 3 or Universal Wall Connector with firmware 26.34 or later, and a Tesla app 4.57.5 or later. The Powerwall and Wall Connector must be connected, registered at the same facility, and connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Smart Charging can only be enabled for one Wall Connector in a facility.
