On October 12, Not a Tesla App announced a new regulatory case in the United States. According to the publication and read by the editors of the NHTSA card, the Office of Defect Investigation opened the DP26010 petition on October 9, 2026 about the operation of the automated system in the Model Y Robotaxi and Cybercab 2026 model year; an estimated total of about 1,000 cars.

The applicant attached three videos and claimed that the vehicles exceeded the published speed limits in the existing school areas. The NHTSA is currently assessing these allegations and deciding whether to comply with the request for a full investigation. There are no reports of accidents, injuries or deaths on the card.

The test applies to Robotaxi in the US. It is not a recall and does not confirm the presence of a defect or the availability of Robotaxi or autonomous mode in Europe.
